Fibre is of two types: soluble fibre and insoluble fibre, and both are required and healthy for our body. Soluble fibre is generally obtained from plant cells. It helps digestion that enables the belly to choose a more gradual emptying time. It will lead to better absorption of nutrients, releasing energy slowly and adequately absorbed in the body. It also helps in lowering bad cholesterol. Insoluble fibre retains the digestive system in excellent functioning condition. It helps with any bowel-related problems. It is advised to consume at least 18 grams of fibre every day for better digestion and a healthy gut. Consuming a good amount of peas, grains, lentils, beans, Potato skins include an incredible amount of fibre. Avoid eating white rice since it has less fibre when compared to brown rice.
